EHS Cross County Coach Kelsey Fillmon’s vision for Eldorado’s Cross Country program came closer to reality on Saturday, November 4th, when the EHS boys team competed together at the State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock. And, there was a Lady Eagle running, too. That’s a far cry from where the program stood when Fillmon came to Eldorado from McCamey in 2020 when there were two competing on the EHS boys team.

By the time the final buzzer sounded, the Eldorado Eagles had not only lost a 27-20 heart-breaker to Iraan, but three Eagle starters, all of them seniors, had been sidelined due to injury.

The Eldorado Middle School Eagles football team closed out its 2023 season with a loss to the Iraan Braves on Thursday, October 26th. The team ends the season with a 6-1-1 record.

Cross Country Coach Kelsey Fillmon’s many hours of coaching this year’s cross county teams have paid off as the Eagles boys team is advancing to the State UIL Cross Country Meet in Round Rock on November 4th. The EHS boys team placed fourth at the UIL Region I Meet to qualify for State.
