Langly Randall Grissom, 85, of Iriving, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.

Randall was born in Cross Plains, Texas on August 3, 1936 to William Langly and Ina Earl Grissom. He was the second of seven children.

Randall came of age in Jones County where his father was a sharecropper on a farm owned by Earnest Hampton. He attended the nearby Truby School before leaving home to join the workforce. He held various jobs throughout his life, including farming, ranching and truck driving. He worked many years delivering concrete to construction jobs in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five of his six siblings including Darrell Edwin Grissom, William Earl (Merle) Grissom, Ellie Jo Kirk, Jimmie Frank Grissom and Sharon LaFae Rister.

He is survived by his wife Mary, son Ronald Wayne Grissom of Abilene, granddaughter Lori Grissom of Abilene, and great-grandson Joey Nathaniel Martinez of Florence, Texas. He is also survived by a sister, Dora Mankin of Eldorado, Texas.

The family plans a memorial service for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Pigeon Hole Church, 132 W. Irving Blvd. in Irving.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
