George Franklin Scott from Eldorado, Texas went to be with the Lord and his beautiful wife on November 30, 2023, in San Angelo, Texas.
George was born in Taylor County to G.W. & Clois Scott on January 10, 1942. He went to school in Winters, Texas where he graduated high school. He later moved to San Angelo where he met the love of his life. George & Su were married on June 5, 1967. George and Su soon made their home in Eldorado. They had two children, Randy & Kim.
George was a plant foreman for ARCO Oil & Gas Plant for 32 years. He was also a rancher and farmer. George retired in 1989 and soon began doing odd jobs to pass the time. He worked for Halbert LPG and Niblett Oil. He was known for his big personality and was often seen at the golf course.
George is preceded in death by his mother, Clois Scott, his father, G.W. Scott, his stepmother, Flo Scott, his wife, Su Scott, his brothers, Sam & Ricky Scott, his sister, Patsy Hogan, and one nephew, Shae Scott.
He is survived by his son, Randy Scott, his daughter and son-in-law, Kevin and Kim Thomas, his grandchildren, Kassidy & Kash Thomas, his sister and brother-in-law, Max and Carolyn Tidmore, his sister-in-law, Judy Scott, and his brother-in-law, Winford Hogan and several nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be at Love’s Funeral Home in Eldorado on Wednesday, December 6th and Thursday December 7th, from 2:00pm – 6:00p.m. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Schleicher County Cemetery Chapel at 1:00p.m. Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Scott, Bill Belew, Kevin Thomas, Mark Fraley, Louis Cantrell, Robert Fesperman, Hector Tobias, and John Wojtek. The honorary pallbearer will be Danny Halbert.
A special thank you goes out to the nurses and doctors in the Shannon ICU, San Angelo Nursing & Rehab, and Hospice of San Angelo. All the staff in these facilities were very supportive and caring.
