Cory Edmiston, 48, of Eldoardo Texas, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2026.

'Though his loss is deeply sudden, and the family is shocked and devastated, we take comfort in the memories of his boundless love and the vibrant life he lived.

Born on May 12, 1977 in San Angelo Texas to Phil and Wanda Edmiston, Cory was a beacon of light in the lives of his family and friends. He was known for his quick wit, his ability to make anyone laugh and his contagious smile. If you knew Cory, he had quite the collection of caps that his family loved to tease him about. One could say he was proud of his “hat addiction.”

Cory was a dedicated and loving father to his three children, Alyssa Nester, 26, and her husband Jesse, Shayle Edmiston, 23, and her fiancé, Christian Rupp and Ryker Edmiston, 17. Above all else, he cherished time spent with them, from turning up the music and dancing or just relaxing. His children were his pride and joy, and he was deeply devoted to ensuring they knew they were loved.

He is also survived by his beloved wife, Erin, of almost 27 years. They enjoyed spending time together and planning relaxing trips to their favorite restaurants. Cory was not only Erin’s love, he was her best friend.

After Cory graduated from TCJC with his associates degree in physiology, he decided to follow the lead and example of his older brother Todd, who taught him the ropes of insurance adjusting. For 25 years, Cory was able to take care of his family through a successful career as an independent insurance adjuster.

When he wasn’t hard at work, Cory was especially passionate about cooking, grilling and smoking meat! He had one other baby in his life that happened to be his 1978 Chevy truck. Cory and his son, Ryker, shared a special love for the Chevy and Cory was able to pass his beloved truck to Ryker just last year.

Cory is survived by his wife and three beautiful children, parents, Phil and Wanda Edmiston, brothers Todd Bilbrey and Krystal, Neal Edmistion and sisters Mendy Brooks and Kari Garrett along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cory is preceded in death by his niece, Karli Garrett, grandparents, Orval and Charlene Edmiston, Bill and Billy Wallace, Bill and Betty Gross and a loving aunt, Little Chris McCravey.

A celebration of Cory’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Eldorado Cemetery Chapel.
