Randy Mankin has spent 32 years telling other people’s stories. On Friday, it was his turn. Mankin, publisher of the Eldorado Success, the Big Lake Wildcat, and the Devil’s River News, was inducted into the Texas Newspaper Foundation’s Hall of Fame at the Texas Press Association’s annual convention at the Hyatt Regency at DFW International Airport.

The commissioners welcomed incoming Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent Tamra Kott, who is scheduled to begin work in Eldorado on July 1. Kott most recently served four years as the 4-H agent in Llano County. A native of Junction, she grew up in an Extension family. Her father spent 30 years as a county extension agent in Sterling and Kimble counties.
