Sonora Police Chief Donald Fernandez has been terminated according to City Manager Art Fuentes. Just last week Fuentes told the Devil’s River News in Sonora that Fernandez had been suspended pending an investigation and said that Lieutenant Whitney Merket was appointed as acting chief.
