Anne Glee Postell was born October 25, 1937, in Brackettville, TX to Amos and Ethel Postell. She went to many schools and graduated from Greenville, Arkansas but always called Eldorado her hometown and school. She married Jimmy Doyle in 1958 and to this union had two sons: Jimmy Dan & Mikel Lynn Doyle. She then married W.R. “Bud” Davidson. Bud died after 32 years of marriage. After his death, she married Ken Shipman, who died in 2019. Anne passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the age of 86.
Anne was a nurse for Dr. Jerry Schulze & Dr. Dan Stultz at Shannon Clinic for 31 years. She loved the office work as this gave her work hours to watch her son Mikel play football and son J.D. play in the band at all the Lake View football games, which she never missed one. She was very proud of them. They were the real meaning of the dash in her life along with their wives Julie and Charlyn. Her family was her life.
“Ma” dearly loved her grandchildren & great grandkids. Grandchildren: Mikel David & Chelsea Doyle, James Ryan Doyle, Cassie Anne & Derick Carson, Jensine & Brett Rasberry, and Stella Doyle. Great grandkids: Leo, Rhoades & Moxen Carson, Andre’ & Ryan Cash Doyle, and baby Archer Rasberry on the way. Anne is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, stepchildren & their families, and Diana Humphreys, who was like a daughter to her.
Anne’s hobby was making and teaching porcelain doll making. Her dolls won many 1st place awards as did her students. She & Bud did this for over 10 years until his death.
Anne had deep faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. In her words, she was not a great or beautiful person, but she was successful in being the best mother she could be & the best Ma to her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was Ma & Granny Annie to some of her extended family & dear friend’s children, especially the Crisp, New, Latham, Humphreys & Spieker families.
She never met a stranger, and her smile was a given “You never know when just one smile could help someone have a good day”.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo. Burial followed at the Schleicher County Cemetery in Eldorado, TX. Memorials may be made to Concho Valley PAWS.
