Creola was born May 9, 1923, in Ralls, Texas, and passed away August 5, 2017, at Lindan Park Nursing Home in Richardson, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband - Leon ‘Roy’ Phelps, Jr., parents - Claude & Lottie Mae Henderson, and siblings - Gerald Henderson, J. L. Henderson, & Mike Henderson. She is survived by her sister - Jessie Mae Boyles & Husband, Richard (Lubbock, TX); children - Teresa Bledsoe & Husband, Thomas (Charlotte, NC), Marilyn Elliott (Dallas), Kenneth Phelps (Houston), & Dennis Phelps (Austin); grandchildren – Natalie Elliott (Carrollton), Scott Bledsoe & Wife, Denise (Charlotte, NC), Amanda Barnes & Husband, Chad (Tyler), Nicholas Phelps (Chicago, IL), Lauren Emge& Husband, Justin (St. Louis, MO) & Allison Elliott (Dallas); great-grandchildren – Nathan, Rebekah, & Hudson Barnes (Tyler); and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Wilma Eloise was born to Charles and Elsie Long on April 30, 1928 in Nebraska. She went to be with Lord on June 29, 2017 in the Schleicher County Nursing Home in Eldorado, TX.  She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; Bob, Ivan, Jerry, Dean and Lowell Long and one sister, Rosalie Rexilius, her husband, Ira Dean Day, one child, Peggy, and one grandson, Andrew Todd Boxa. 

Hermie B. Dittman, 77, just two weeks shy of 78, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Big Lake. She was born August 5, 1939 in Eldorado, Texas to Buren America and Zella Ophelia (Mercer) Whitten. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1957 and married the love of her life Don Dittman in 1972.

Nancy Jo Patton, 79, of College Station, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2017. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bryan with Pastor Wade Coleman officiating. Interment followed at College Station Memorial Cemetery.

Dawn Ziegler Meador, 69, of Boerne,Texas, passed away on July 9, 2017 in Rome,Italy after being hospitalized in Rome. She was born on February 12, 1948 to Dwan and Janice K. Ziegler in Lansing, Michigan. She is survived by her husband, John “Rusty” Meador of Boerne, her son Regan and Carey Meador of Fredericksburg, Texas, her daughter, Rev. Taylor and Rev. Brad Fuerst of Austin, Texas, her sister, Carol and Dr. Glenn Spencer of Bingham Farms, Michigan,five grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Deloris Diane Wilks Tatum, age 50, passed away Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas with her family by her side.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 6, 2017 at Brenham Church of Christ  with Dr. Doug Hall officiating. Chapel service will follow Friday 10:00 a.m. at Eldorado Cemetery Chapel, Eldorado TX. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. 

On June 12, 2017 Richard Raymond Dickinson Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep. Richard was born on July 10, 1945. He is preceded in death by son Richard Dickinson Jr., son Marion Lee Kiser, grandson Roland David Dickinson, and great grandson Branden Norman. He leaves behind wife Sherry Dickinson, son Frank V. Dickinson, son Rupert & wife JayLynn Cammack, daughter Lissa & wife Karen Cammack, 10 grandkids, 12 great grandkids, and numerous nieces & nephews. He and wife Sherry were happily married to each other for 39 precious years. Richard enjoyed time with his family, fishing, watching NASCAR races, and even spent time out at the dirt race track in San Angelo TX.

James (Jim) Wesley Robinson passed away at his home on Monday, June 12th, surrounded by his family. He was born May 16, 1933 during the Great Depression, the fourth of 16 children to Willie Levi and Bertie Mae Robinson.

Curtis Juul Overby was born August 2, 1939 in Plentywood Montana to John and Ella (Juul) Overby. Curtis passed away on May 27, 2017. Curtis was raised on the family farm with his two brothers, Gordon and Rick.  Curtis graduated from Plentywood High School in 1957 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Montana State University in Bozeman.

Mary Ann Sherrod, 74, passed away May 16, 2017 in San Angelo, TX, released from the shackles of Parkinson’s disease. She was born on November 21, 1942 in Hobbs, NM to Andy and Mary Lee Nixon.

Edwin Darrell Grissom, 78, died at his home in Abilene on Thursday, April 27, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2017 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, in Abilene, with burial following in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Truett Kent Stanford Sr. of Los Banos, California passed away on Monday April 10th. Born on June 15th 1934 to Mildred (Mimmie) and Truett Covington Stanford in Eldorado, Texas. Truett was the center and the co-captain of the Eldorado High School football team and he married his high school sweetheart Jorgia Mae Lagow in 1954. Truett graduated from Eldorado High School and went one year to San Angelo State University where he majored in Agronomy. He was active in 4-H and won many ribbons for showing Corriedale sheep. The Stanford family had a combination cattle ranch and cotton farm near Eldorado where all three of his brothers went to Eldorado High School.

Thursday, March 30, 2017 Robert Wilson Page (Bob) of Canyon, Texas joined our Lord and Savior in His Church Triumphant. Born on January 8, 1952 in San Angelo, Texas Bob grew up in the loving community of Eldorado where he proudly played football, basketball, and ran track for the Eagles. Upon graduation Bob went on to play football at Texas Tech University and Sul Ross State University where he obtained his bachelor degree. 

Lillie was born April 20, 1943 in Uvalde, Texas. She was a long-time resident of Eldorado, Mertzon, and San Angelo, Texas. She worked for TxDOT for 10 years, then she worked along side her husband Martin in farming and ranching endeavors in Eldorado as well as owning and operating Heritage Haus clock shop in San Angelo. 

Mary Jo Horton Hill, 92, of San Angelo died Saturday, April 1. She was born on October 21, 1924, to Myrtle Gene Lewellen and Dwight David Horton in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her brother, Jack,soon joined the family. The Horton family lived in Indianapolis until her dad’s death when Mary Jo was 15. They moved back to Fort Worth to be near family.

Irene Sauer Reynolds passed away March 10, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas at the age of 88.  Irene was the twelfth child born to Otto and Louise (Baethge) Sauer on December 26, 1928 in Blanco County. When Irene was 2 ½ months old, Louise moved the children to Schleicher County where Otto had purchased land and built a home for his family.  Irene attended the Reynolds Community School for a couple of years then went to school in Eldorado until graduation.

ELDORADO – Tommye Crumbley, 77, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from complications of a heart attack. Memorial services are still pending. She was born August 21, 1939 in San Angelo, Texas to Thomas Richard and June Jones of Eldorado. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1957 and went on to attend Texas Tech University. 

God called our wonderful and loving Daddy and Guelito to his heavenly home on February 26, 2017.   Eduardo “Lalo” Tobias was born on October 13, 1929 to Juanita Carvajal and Nolberto Tobias in Jimenez Coahuila, Mexico.  On December 25, 1955, he married Cipriana Vasquez, a marriage that lasted 42 years.

Rosa Fay Williams Reynolds was born on a snowy April 13, 1928 to Cecil and Gertrude Williams. She grew up eight miles east of Eden and attended Brady Valley school through sixth grade. That school then consolidated with the Eden school. She graduated in 1945 as her class salutatorian. She attended Texas Women's College and Abilene Christian College and earned a degree in chemistry.

Dorothy Louise Gibson, age 80 and a resident of Lewisville, TX passed away February 20, 2017 in Burleson, TX. She was born September 29, 1936 in Menard, TX to Sam and Ethel (Clark) Carrell. Dorothy attended schools in Eldorado, TX and Cooke County College in Gainesville, TX. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked at Denton Regional Medical Center until she retired in 2001.
