Eldorado High School hosted the 2021 Stride on the Divide Cross Country Invitational Meet on Wednesday, August 25th for area high school and middle school runners at the Eldorado Golf Course. Schools represented included Christoval, Sonora, Ozona, Reagan County, Ballinger, Winters, Water Valley, Brady, Menard, McCamey, Paint Rock, Cross Plains, Miles, Coleman, Garden City, San Angelo TLC Academy, Coleman, Rankin, San Saba, Forsan and Colorado City.

142 varsity girls made up the largest group of runners. They competed on a two-mile course, beginning at 9 a.m.

Cross Country Coach Kelesy Fillmon was thrilled with the turn out for the meet and wanted to thank everyone who helped make the meet run smoothly.

The EHS varsity girls team placed 5th. Individual results included: (12) Jessica Garcia 14:03, (21) Maryssa Guerrero 15:00, (39) Jocelyn Massey 15:30, (54) Myranda Guerrero 15:57, (59) Minelly Montes, 16:01, (65) Leslie Alegria, 16:42, (79) Karen Esparza, 16:42, (99) Ava Rodriguez 17:37.

Results for the EHS JV girls included: (22) Jasmine Castro 19:55; (29) Milette Hernandez 21:09 (28).

The Eagles varsity boys placed 3rd. Individual results included: (15) Jonathan McGee 19:03, (30) Roy Davalos 20:16, (32) Roman Guadarrama 20:18, (35) Jordan Blackmon 20:37, (39) Jassi Galindo 20:49, (57) Andrew McGee 21:49, (60) Ramiro Leija 22:01, (89) Joxon Yeager 23:54.

In the JV boys division, Tyler Breece placed 1st in a field of 21 runners with a time of 20:58.2.

7th and 8th grade runners began their portion of the meet at 4 p.m on a two-mile course. The EMS 7th and 8th grade boys teams each placed 1st.
The 7th grade girls team placed 2nd. Individual results were: (1) Micah McGee 12:41, (4) Leilani Kmiec 16:53, (7) Zariah Garcia 17:19, (16) Carmen Mata 19:22, (17) Alyssa Thornton 19:22, (24) Paige Williams 20:14, (25) Isabella Moreno 20:23.

The 7th grade boys placed 1st: Individual results included: (2) Seth Lovett 14:42, (4) Jakob Gamez 14:49, (11) Wesley Stevens 15:58, (12) Jason Hernandez 15:59, (13) Josh Guzman 15:59, (14) Isaac Rivas 16:51, (18) Chuy Martinez 17:36, (19) Korbin Middleton 17:56.

Eldorado’s 8th grade girls team placed 4th. Individual results were: (9) Mallory Okerson 12:29, (12) Addie Walling 18:39, (20) Miley Doran 19:23, (24) Lizeth Vasquez 20:17, (40) Emily Morin 23:39.

The EMS 8th grade boys placed 1st. Individual results included: (4) Jaxon Hight 13:48, (5) Ryley Hight 13:59, (8) Malik Arispe 14:12, (12) Jayden Guadarrama 14:59, (24) Zachary McBride 15:56, (28) Cyrus Shipman, (30) Marcos Flynn 18:38.
