Eagles head football coach Chad Tutle said that 43 players reported for two-a-day workouts as the 2023 football season kicked off on Monday, July 31st. A few additional players who had not yet completed their physicals are expected to report in the coming days.

The Sul Ross State University Athletic Department received word on July 13 from the NCAA that they have been approved for Division II athletic competition.
