Roger Keith Tucker went to join his Savior on April 15, 2025. Roger was born in Frederick, Oklahoma to Bertha and J. M. Tucker on September 17, 1935.
Roger enjoyed sharing tales and drinking coffee with friends. He liked to play 42, go to the horse races in Ruidoso, watch rodeos, baseball, and football on TV. His favorite place to be was at the cabin in Menard.
Roger served in the US Army. He attended San Angelo College, Texas Tech, and Sul Ross. Roger met Martha Ellen Topliffe from Eldorado, TX at Sul Ross. They married in 1966.
Roger and Martha Ellen first lived in Eagle Pass, TX and both taught school there. They then moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma for Roger to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University to receive his Master of Education degree.
Their next stop was in Big Spring, Texas where they both worked in BSISD for over 30 years. They moved to San Angelo after their retirement and have resided there since.
Roger was a member of Sierra Vista Methodist Church in San Angelo and an associate member of First Methodist Church in Menard.
Roger was preceded in passing by his two sons, Joel Keith Tucker and Rex Kendall Tucker; and brother, Tom Tucker.
Left to cherish Roger’s memory are his wife, Martha Ellen Tucker; daughter-in-law, Amy Tucker; grandchildren, Jaxon Tucker and wife, Sarah of Pittsburg, PA, Jesse Tucker of Austin, TX, Georgia Grace Coffman and husband Ryan of Abilene, TX; and sister-in-law, Myrta Overby of Eldorado, TX.
Family led services will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the Tucker family asks that you make a memorial contribution in Roger’s name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing.
