On Sunday, November 11, 2018, Robert Cleveland Hocutt went to be with our Heavenly Father. He was born July 13, 1939, to L.J. Hocutt and Della Grace Gartman Hocutt in Athens, Texas. While a young man Bob, as he was called, joined the Army in 1958. He was honorably discharged in 1964 after having served under three United States Presidents; Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson. He liked the fact that he was able to help his country and almost enlisted in the Navy after his discharge from the Army.
On June 12, 1967, Bob married Patricia Ann Sessions, they were happily married for 51 years. Together they had three children; Robert Carroll Hocutt, who preceded him in death, Sherry Hocutt Taylor of Corpus Christi, and Bobby Glenn Hocutt of Cotulla. Bob was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Pat, daughter Sherry, and son Glenn. Also surviving him are his four grandchildren; Keeli Taylor of Iowa, Ethan Hocutt of Cotulla, Texas, Ashton Garcia, and Paige Johnson of Sonora, Texas; great-grandchildren Jeffrey Prince and Sophia, Emma, and E.J. Garcia; his brothers David, Marlin, and Dale Hocutt and their spouses; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Robert, brothers J.W. Hocutt, Melvin Hocutt, and Joe Dan Hocutt.
Graveside services for Robert Hocutt will be at 11 in the morning Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Eldorado Cemetery, with Clyde Dukes officiating.
