A welder’s errant spark touched off a fire that charred 1,200 acres of ranchland on Wednesday, January 24th, some 10 miles northeast of Eldorado. Most of the fire was contained on the Rooster McConaughey Ranch (formerly owned by the late Grace White) on the east side of Schleicher County Road 316.
