Martin Belman Jr. of Poteet, Texas passed away on April 24, 2022 at the age of 75. Martin Belman Jr. was born October 11, 1946 to Prudencia Aguilar and Martin Belman Sr. in Eldorado, Texas. At the age of 17 years old Mr. Belman joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War where he was wounded in action and earned a Purple Heart. Following his service in the Marine Corps Mr. Belman enlisted in the U.S Army. After his tenure in the Army Mr. Belman continued his service in the U.S. Navy where he retired after 22 years of Active service. While his son was in the Poteet Aggie Band, and for several years after, Mr. Belman would volunteer in the Poteet Aggie Band Boosters. He loved to attend his kids’ extracurricular functions. Nobody was a bigger fan of their teams. Being a veteran of a foreign war Mr. Belman’s second family, naturally, was VFW Post 6970 where he had served as Quartermaster. Mr. Belman was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. You could often find him doing volunteer work for his community and attendings his grandkids’ sporting events.

Mr. Belman is preceded in death by his parents, Prudencia Aguilar, and Martin Belman Sr; Brothers, Miguel Belman, and Demetrio Bellman; sisters, Emma Gonzalez, and Maria Torres; Daughter, Yvonne Belman.

Mr. Belman is survived by his wife, Amelia Belman; his brother, Isodoro Belman; sisters, Linda Escobar, Lydia Guerrero, and Josie Knight; sons, Martin Jesus Belman III, and Moses Noel Belman; daughters, Norma Jeannie Martinez, Yvonne Guadalupe Belman; grandchildren, Kenny Bautista, K.C. Bautista, Emery Natividad, Gabriella Belman, Izabella Belman, Cameron Belman, Elynna Belman, Jasmine Belman, Moses Belman II, Amira Belman, Ezekiel Belman, Jason Belman, Avery Cardenas, and Azeriah Cardenas; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.

Care has been entrusted to Camero Funeral Home. Services will begin with visitation Wednesday May 11, 2022 at 4 p.m. in the Camero Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary service at 6 p.m. Services will continue the next day, May 12, 2022. Chapel services will be held at Camero Funeral Home at 10 a.m. The service will conclude at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
