Jose Diaz was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He left this world on December 15th, 2022 at the age of 72. His battle with lung cancer displayed his ability to remain courageous and full of faith in the midst of life’s challenges.
Jose was born in Zapotlanejo, Jalisco, Mexico to Jose Cruz Diaz and Maria del Refugio Hernandez on August 26, 1950. Later in life on May 14, 1977 he married the love of his life Martha Villavicencio and together had five daughters; Patricia Newton, Irma Diaz, Teresa Diaz, Martha Sevier, and Josie Barragan.
Jose was a proud member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Eldorado and had a passion for fishing, cooking, singing, dancing, traveling, spending time with family and friends and will always be remembered for his unconditional love, cooking Jalisco inspired dishes, a wealth of knowledge, his bravery and courage, his faith, and storytelling.
Jose is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Martha Diaz, his daughters Patricia Newton and spouse Larry, Irma Diaz, Martha Sevier and spouse Rudy, Josie Barragan and spouse Levon, son Abraham Vela Delgado and partner Elizabeth Adame, his grandchild Ezra, Destinee, Ebonee, Mateo, Sage, Viviana, Juliana, Emilia, Abraham, Annahi, and Arely. Siblings Rosa Cardenas, Teresa Young, Lydia Blanco, and Jose Luis Hernandez, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Proceeded in death by his parents, one sister Maricruz Muniz, daughter Teresa Diaz, nephew Fernando Cardenas.
A special thanks to Dr. Raj Cheraku and staff, Dr. Fernando Alcoccer, Shannon Oncology dept., Inhabit Home Health, and Hospice of San Angelo.
Services will be Monday December 19th 2022, 2:00PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Eldorado TX Mass officiated by Father Tony Franco, followed by burial immediately after at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San Angelo TX.
