Guadalupe “Ama” Martinez Guerrero, 83, of Eldorado, TX, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2018.

Lupe was born on February 3, 1935 in Eldorado to Manuel and Julia Martinez. In 1949, she married Eluterio Guerrero and they remained committed to each other for over 40 years until his passing in 1991.

“Ama,” as she was known by everyone, did not have a formal education, but she was the greatest teacher and left behind a legacy of faith, hope, and love. She served the Lord in everything she did. She was a prayer warrior who was always called upon by others to pray for their needs. Her creativity was without limits because she could make anything out of nothing. She fed thousands, as her kitchen was never closed, but she also fed people’s spirits with her lessons, prayers, and unshakable faith. She was an avid sports enthusiast and she was her grandkids’ and great grandkids’ biggest fan.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Manuel and Julia (Velasquez) Martinez, her husband, Eluterio Guerrero, five brothers, Antonio, Prudencio, Eusebio, Jesus, and Asencion Martinez.

She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Martinez, Delia and Fidel Herrera, Diana and husband Joaquin Covarrubiaz; three sisters, Juanita Shirley, Lola Rodriguez, and Adelina Saldivar; two brothers, Manuel Martinez and Telesforo Martinez; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed but is where she longed to be... in her Heavenly Father’s arms.
