DEL RIO – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Sector, assisted by the Eagle Pass Fire Department, rescued a group of 140 migrants stranded on an island, on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande River.

A high-speed chase, beginning with an attempted traffic stop in Sutton County, made its way into Schleicher County on Friday, March 31st, before turning south again and ending just south of the Sutton County line.

The Plateau Underground Water Conservation & Supply District board of directors met Tuesday, March 28th at the Schleicher County Extension Office on SW Main Street in Eldorado.

Yet another suspected human trafficker was pursued into and through Schleicher County on Sunday evening, March 26th, before abandoning their pickup near Mertzon.
