  • Gas Rates Are Going Up, So Pray for a Mild Winter

    The price the City of Eldorado pays for natural gas is going up and that cost will be passed through to the city’s gas customers. Nothing is official until the city council holds hearings on matter, but council members voted Tuesday night, October 13th, to support a $10 increase in the city’s base rate.

  • Eagles Defeat Miles Bulldogs to Open District Play

    The Eldorado Eagles coasted to a 35-6 win over the Miles Bulldogs on Friday, October 9th at Larry Mitchel Stadium in Eldorado. The Warbirds were never really challenged in the game as they put 28 points on the board and held the Bulldogs scoreless in the first half.

  • Elementary Teacher, 2 Nursing Home Employees Test Positive for COVID-19

    COVID-19/coronavirus made its way last week onto the Schleicher County ISD elementary campus where a 4th grade teacher tested positive for the virus. Superintendent Robert Gibson, Sr. reported the news on Friday, October 9th, and added that, so far, no students have tested positive for the virus. Meanwhile, two staff members tested positive at the Schleicher County Nursing Home last week. Nursing Home Administrator Pam Stokes announced last week that two staff members tested positive and were immediately sent home. She notes that neither of the employees had been in direct contact with nursing home residents and said that resident family members have been notified of the situation.

  • Schleicher County ISD Trustees Meet, Consider COVID-19 Response

    The Schleicher County ISD board of trustees met in regular session on Monday, October 12th and heard about efforts on all three campuses to educate the district’s students while complying with COVID-19 protocols.

  • MAGA Rally and Pro-Trump Parade Planned Here Saturday

    Supporters of President Donald Trump are planning a Make America Great Again (MAGA) rally and parade on Saturday, October 17th. The event is slated to get underway at 4 p.m. on the Schleicher County courthouse square with participants being encouraged to decorate their vehicles with Trump and/or MAGA signs and flags.
