Dorothy Clark, beloved wife, mother Mimi and friend passed away peacefully Saturday September 12, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 19 at the Eldorado Cemetery with Rev. Cleve Clark officiating.

Dorothy was born May 14, 1940 in San Angelo, Texas to Clarence “Buddy” and Nellie Haney Burleson. Dorothy married Earl Dean Clark on February 28, 1958.

Dorothy was a talented artist and seamstress, and enjoyed cooking great meals for her kids and all of their friends. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and bingo.

Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. As a young mother she cultivated her love for the Lord by studying the Bible feverishly with Mary Robinson as her devoted teacher and friend. Dorothy cherished all the time spent with Mary, and up until her passing, she still spoke in awe of Mary’s love for the Lord.

Dorothy lived for and through her family, giving freely to all she loved. Dorothy was a permanent fixture around the Eldorado school system, volunteering and being involved in every endeavor her kids undertook. EHS principal, Richard McCarson once mused that she should be on the payroll as much time as she spent at the school.

Dorothy’s last three years were spent surrounded by the loving and caring staff at the Schleicher County Nursing Home. With each day there, she grew happier and more content with her new life. She expressed her love for the staff and it soon became clear to all that the experience was bringing her great peace and healing to her heart.

She spoke often of the ones she lost and the caring staff would listen as she told of being made to feel like a princess through all the years of marriage, citing how she was spoiled, loved and respected by her hero and partner in life. Through these stories it was clear how much she missed her husband and loved ones. The staff at the nursing home took over spoiling and loving her and she felt like a princess again. For the loving home and care provided to Dorothy we are forever grateful.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, sister and brother-in-law, sister-in law-and brother-in-law, her daughters and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Bill Clark, sons-in-law Philip Meyer and Ken Koenig, and eight beloved grandchildren, Brittni (Bobby) Simmons, Lindsey (Michael) Vela, Chance (Amanda) Meyer, Clark (Erin) Meyer, Dannielle Crowder, Cannon Clark, Zach Koening, Jimbo Koenig, and eight great-grandchildren Baleigh, Tom, Faith, Oliver, Paislee, Mackenze, Lilly and Lace.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charity, the Mary Barton Robinson Sunday School Class, at First Baptist Church of Eldorado.
