Abbie McCormick of Eldorado went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born November 29, 1946 in San Angelo Texas and graduated from Central High School in the class of 1964. It was important to Abbie that she was a member of the TexAnns drill team.

Abbie and Phil were married for 41 years and are the parents of Crissi Cay and Matt Dudley. Their granddaughter Sunni Cate was the light of their eyes.

Abbie was a rodeo mom encouraging her own children and many others as they competed in youth rodeos.

She was employed by the Schleicher County ISD for 20 years serving as the high school secretary and substitute “mom” to many students who needed love and guidance. Even though she was never a classroom teacher, she was listed by many as their “favorite teacher.”

Abbie was a partner in business and life with Phil every step of the way.

Abbie is survived by her husband, Phil, and their two children, Crissi and Matt; and granddaughter, Sunni Cate. She is also survived by her sister, Rexine Bristow, and two nephews, Brent and Blake Bristow, numerous cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Velma Barler and brothers-in-law, Buzz (Rex) McCormick and Marion Bristow.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Schleicher County Nursing Home for the wonderful loving care Abbie received for the past 4 years. Kindred Hospice was so good to Abbie for her final weeks.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 22, 2018 at 1:30 pm, First Baptist Church of Eldorado, Texas.

If you wish to honor Abbie’s memory with a memorial, please donate to the charity of your choice.
