ELDORADO – June Jones (or Mango as we affectionately called her), 99, died Monday, January 14, 2019 just shy of her 100th birthday. Services will be Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 10 A.M. in the Chapel at Love Funeral Home in Eldorado.

Born in Sterling City to Herman Hooker and Mabel Gilmore, Mango was the youngest of six children. When she was a little girl, her family moved to Eldorado to manage the Elder Hotel that used to be in the same site where the Gazebo sits today. She graduated from Eldorado High School and eloped to Ciudad Acuna to marry her high school sweetheart Thomas Richard Jones also of Eldorado. They were happily married until his passing in 1989.

Mango enjoyed a lot of past times including ranching, fishing, traveling to Eagle Pass and Ruidoso to play the slots, bridge, dancing, and spending time with her loved ones. She was very witty, loved to visit and never wanted to miss a single thing. She was also a very good cook and her recipes have been passed down thru the ages. We will miss her sense of humor and stories the most.

Mango was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, daughters Linda Dellavechia and Tomasyne Crumbley and grandson Rich Dellavechia. She is survived by her son, Ricky Jones of Eldorado. Grandchildren Janna Pridemore and husband Shane of Eldorado, Randa Jacoby of Junction, Logan Jones and Chely of Sonora, and Riley Jones of Eldorado. As well as many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank everyone at Schleicher County Nursing Home, Kindred Hospice and Dr. Blanc.
