Deeply Missed, Never Forgotten

Ethel Lee Doran Pilkington joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on December 4, 2021 after living 81 full years on Earth.

Ethel has been a long time resident of Eldorado who cared deeply for everyone around her. Her community will remember her serving school lunches to many students over the years and caring for others through home health care and hospice.

She was a proud and active member of the Agape Assemblies of God church and loved teaching youth Sunday school. She loved and served others well by meeting peoples’ needs during illness or trials and brought joy to many with her big personality and good sense of humor.

Ethel is preceded in death by her mother Gladys Marcrum Bonkowski, stepfather Tony Bonkowski, husband Clifton Ray Doran, husband Billy Joe Pilkington, and sister Louise Taylor.

She is survived by her three sons Robert Clifton Doran and wife Elizabeth Dugan Doran of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Bryan Russell Doran and wife Mary Jo Lynch Doran of London, Texas, and David Randall Doran and wife Lenette Hughes Doran of Eldorado, Texas; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren are blessed to call her “GG.”

Her family remembers her best as the spicy, feisty bird lady who loves animals, sunflowers, and spending time with family. She had a natural talent of investing into others through conversation, being present in the moment, and loving unconditionally.

A graveside service to celebrate her life, love, and legacy will be held on December 7, 2021, 10 a.m. at the Sonora, TX Cemetery.
