Elmer Earl Garlitz passed away peacefully on March 7, 2021, at Country View Living in Dimmitt, Texas.

Elmer was born in San Angelo, Texas, on December 30, 1932, to Amos and Fannie Garlitz. He attended school in Veribest and San Angelo Lakeview, graduating in 1951.

After a medical discharge from the Army, Elmer returned to San Angelo where he met, fell in love with and married Willene Page on January 14, 1955 and proceeded to build a life together that included five children. Elmer and Willene made their home in San Angelo before moving their family to Eldorado in 1971, where he continued his work as a milkman for Foremost and then Gandy’s. He retired from Gandy’s in 1995 and drove a school bus for Schleicher County ISD for the next nine years.

Elmer loved and provided for his family. He took great pleasure and pride in his children and grandchildren, and he took every opportunity to attend all the events and games he could in which they participated.

Elmer was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Willene, his parents, his sisters and their husbands Frankie & Lamar Dusek, and Marie & Top Legg, his brothers-in-law George Page and Jimmie Allen, his nephew Bobby Legg, and his precious granddaughter, Laura Page Schneemann.

Elmer will be missed by his children, Sharon & Mark Elam of Rockwall, Terrie & Dan Schneemann of Big Lake, Don Garlitz of Whitehouse, Greg & Mindy Garlitz of Plainview, and Kara Sue Garlitz of Nazareth.
