Memorial services for Aaron Kumler “Gangie” Mund will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel in Suphur Springs, TX with Rev. Chester Amidon and Rev. Ron Smedley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Gangie passed away on September 13, 2019 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital.

He was born on August 12, 1932 in Eldorado, Texas the son of Arthur Jackson Mund I and Gretchen Coffeen Mund. Gangie served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a Plant Engineer for Amoco Oil, now BP.

Gangie was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, and he was a rancher and raised chickens. He married Joan Marie King on March 25, 1957 in Big Lake, Texas and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Michael K. Mund and his wife Vanetta of Como, daughter, Kelli Byrnes and husband Clay of Winnsboro, sisters, Norah Jones of Round Rock, and Gretta Beck of Round Rock, grandchildren, Cassie Mund, Adriana Weems, Jeff Byrnes, Kaleb Mund, Shelby Frazier, and Trey Williams, great-grandchildren, Rhyann Moon, Waylon Frazier, J.W. Williams, Molly Williams, and Karsen Jeffcoat.

In addition to his wife, Gangie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur J. Mund, Jr., John Arthur Mund, sisters, Ruth Bossy, Mildred Bigsby, Barbara Priest, and Alice Mund.
