Mason Vaughan, president and CEO of First National Bank of Eldorado, has been elected to the board of directors of the Texas Bankers Association. He will serve a one-year term.

Vaughan has 21 years of banking experience. He got his start in the industry as a teller at San Angelo National Bank and financial examiner for the Texas Department of Banking before joining the staff at First National Bank in 2003. From vice president to senior vice president, Vaughan has also served on the bank’s board of directors. In 2011, he was promoted to executive vice president and now serves as the president and CEO.

“Serving on the board of TBA alongside fellow Texas bankers is an honor,” Vaughan said. “TBA being the oldest and largest state banking association in the nation, I hope to be able to advocate for smaller community banks such as FNB Eldorado.”

Vaughan is a member and past president of the Eldorado Lions Club and serves as the president of the Schleicher County Wellness Center. He was recently appointed by Governor Abbott to the Upper Colorado River Authority. In addition, he is the past president of the Children’s Advocacy Center in Tom Green County and a graduate of Texas Agriculture Lifetime Leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Angelo State University.

The First National Bank of Eldorado was formed in 1907 to serve the banking needs of the county and the surrounding areas.
