Eldorado’s Logan Prater punched her ticket to the State Track Meet with a first place finish in the 200 Meter Dash at the Region 1-2A Track Meet on the campus of West Texas A&M University in Canyon on Saturday, May 24th.

Prater, who had already competed in the Triple Jump, 100 Meter Hurdles, and ran the anchor leg of the 4 x 200 Meter Relay, claimed the gold medal in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.70, despite running on “dead legs,” according to Coach Kelsey Fillmon.

Prater placed 6th in the Triple Jump with a distance of 34-09.50 and was 4th in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.61.

Meanwhile, Jessica Garcia placed 4th in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:25.32. She also placed 5th in the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 5:51.52.

Eldorado’s girls 4 x 200 Meter Relay team qualified in the prelims and advanced to the finals where they placed 8th with a time of 1:51.63. The team consisted of Robbi Martinez, Jessica Garcia, Dasani Rios and Logan Prater.

It was a bad day for Eldorado’s Cooper Meador as he scratched on all his attempts in the Triple Jump.

Nino Tambungia placed 8th in the Long Jump with a leap of 20-04.

Eldorado’s boys 4 x 100 Meter Relay team was not able to advance beyond the prelims.

Meanwhile the boys 4 x 200 Meter Relay team qualified for the finals and claimed a bronze medal finishing third with a time of 1:32.07. Relay Team members include Nino Tambunga, Jonathan McGee, Korbin Covarrubiaz and Cooper Meador.

Jonathan McGee placed 9th in the 200m Dash with a time of 23.80.

Logan Prater is slated to compete in the 200 Meter Run at the State Track Meet at 7:55 p.m. on Friday, May 7th.

The State Meet is being held at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin.
