The Eldorado Lady Eagles will face the Albany Lady Lions on Monday, February 11th in the opening round of the State 2A basketball playoffs. The two teams will meet in Coleman for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

The girls dropped their final two games of the district schedule to finish in third place with a 6-4 record. The Christoval girls won the district with the Forsan Lady Buffs placing second. The Miles girls claimed the fourth place playoff berth.

The Eldorado girls ended the season with a pair of losses. They fell to Miles on Friday, February 1st in Miles, then lost to the visiting Christoval Lady Cougars 40-33 in Eagle Gym on Tuesday, February 5th.

Eldorado 40 - Miles 48

Miles grabbed an early lead and didn’t relinquish it throughout the game. Codee Meador scored 19 for the Lady Eagles with Victoria DeHanis adding nine points. But, that wouldn’t be enough as Miles led 10-6 after the first quarter and held a 24-16 advantage at the intermission.

The Lady Eagles surged in the final stanza with Meador putting up eight points in the fourth quarter but the only closed the gap on the Miles girls by three points making the final score 48-40, Miles.

Christine Lindsey tallied five points in the game with Payton Whitten hitting a three-pointer and Emmie Grace Mynatt and Jadyn Martinez each adding two points.

Christoval 40 - Eldorado 33

The Eldorado Eagles took an early lead over the league-leading Christoval Lady Cougars and led 74 after one quarter of play on Tuesday, February 5th, in Eagle Gym.

But Christoval substituted frequently and eventually wore the Lady Eagles down. Christoval led 22-11 at the half.
Payton Whitten was the leading scorer for the Lady Eagles with 11 while Victoria DeHanis added eight and Codee Meador hit for six.

The Lady Eagles rallied in the fourth quarter as Payton Whitten sank all 11 of her points in the final stanza. But, Eldorado’s 15-point surge in the quarter fell short and Christoval claimed the 40-33 victory and wrapped up an undefeated season in district play.

Christine Lindsey added four points for the Lady Eagles in the game while Jadyn Martinez and Emmie Grace Mynatt each tallied two points.
