The Eldorado Lady Eagles defeated the Winters Lady Blizzards 18-1 on Tuesday, April 20th in Winters to claim a share of the District 6-2A title. The game was called after three innings under the UIL 15-run mercy rule. No other information about that game was available as this week’s edition went press on Wednesday

The Lady Eagles 5-1 run at the end of the season included a win over Santa Anna who forfeited to Eldorado. The surge pushed the team’s district record to 10-2 and gave them a share of the District 6-2A lead with the Miles Lady Bulldogs and the Coleman Lady Bluecats.

There was no word Wednesday morning about possible play-in games or other playoff scenarios. The Success will post updates on post-season play when we learn more. Look for that information on our website at and on our social media pages.

Menard 0 - Eldorado 16

The Eldorado Lady Eagles notched up a 16-0 over the Menard Yellowjackets on Tuesday, March 30th. Eldorado scored all its runs in the bottom of the first inning fueled in part by a double, a triple, two runs scored and four RBIs by Yatzari Narvaez.

Twenty Lady Eagles went to bat in the first inning and the game was essentially over before Menard got a chance to bat.

Jocelyn Massey went the distance in the pitcher’s circle and got the shut-out win for the Lady Eagles. She allowed only one hit while striking out four and walking three.

The game ended after two and a half innings under the UIL’s 15-run mercy rule.

Eldorado 7 - Miles 10
The Lady Eagles came up short in Miles on Tuesday, April 6th, after taking an early lead in the top of the first.

The Lady Bulldogs answered with a lead off home run in the bottom of the stanza then added four more in the bottom of the second inning.

The Lady Eagles were playing catch up from there and just couldn’t close the gap despite Maryssa Guerrero’s two-run homer in the top of the fifth.
Guerrero also handled the pitching duties for the Lady Eagles. She gave up nine runs on 13 hits while walking six and striking out four.

Eldorado 20 - Christoval 10

The Eldorado Lady Eagles blasted the Christoval Lady Cougars 20-10 on Tuesday, April 13th, in Christoval.

Jadyn Martinez belted five singles in six plate appearances as she scored two runs and drove in two more to lead Eldorado’s offensive effort.

Heidi Estrada notched up a single in the top of the first then belted a home run in the top of the sixth as she scored a run and drove in four others.

Maryssa Guerrero hit for a single, a double, a triple, and scored two runs in the contest.

Guerrero and Jocelyn Massey shared pitching duties. Together they allowed 10 runs on 14 hits while walking four and striking out 11.

Eldorado 19 - Coleman 0

The Eldorado Eagles tallied 25 hits including a pair of home runs as they blanked the Coleman Lady Bluecats 19-0 on Saturday, April 17th in Coleman.

The win avenges an 8-4 loss to the Lady Bluecats on March 5th in Eldorado.

Narvaez hit for the cycle with a home run in the top of the first, a double in the third, a triple in the fourth and a single in the fifth. She scored a pair of runs while driving in four more.

Kali Proffitt hit for a single, a double, and a home run in the top of the fifth. She scored three runs and drove in four more to help fuel Eldorado’s offensive onslaught.

The Lady Eagles led wire to wire and slammed the door on any hopes Coleman may have had with an 11-run fifth inning.

Maryssa Guerrero got the start in the pitcher’s circle and struck out seven while holding the Lady Bluecats scoreless through four and two-thirds innings.
