Eldorado 59 - Ozona 31

The Lady Eagles suffered their their first district loss to Christoval on Friday, January 18th but returned to their winning ways on Tuesday, January 22nd by defeating the Ozona Lady Lions 59-31 in Ozona.

Eldorado led wire to wire as Codee Meador, Payton Whitten and Victoria Dehanis teamed up for 47 points on the night. Meador poured in 20 points while Whitten hit for 14 and DeHanis tallied 13.

The Lady Eagles led 13-6 at the end of the opening quarter and extended the lead to 31-13 at the half.

Eldorado outscored Ozona 17-6 in the third stanza and 17-12 in the fourth for the 59-31 victory.

The Lady Eagles were 9 of 22 from the charity stripe but shot for 50 percent from the field compared to 17 percent for the Lady Lions.

Christine Lindsey made 10 points on the night while Jadyn Martinez added two points and Destinny Sandate tallied one to round out the scoring for the Lady Eagles.

Forsan 39 - Eldorado 29

The Eldorado Lady Eagles basketball team lost to the Forsan Lady Buffs 39-29 on Friday, January 25th in Forsan.

The game was tied at six after one quarter of play but the Lady Buffs pulled ahead by single point, leading 15-14 at the half.

Forsan pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Lady Eagles 14-8 in the third and 10-6 in the fourth.

Codee Meador was the leading scorer for Eldorado with 14 points. She tallied seven points in each of the two halves.

Victoria DeHanis hit for six points while Destinny Sandate tallied four, Payton Whitten counted for three and Dasani Rios added two.

Eldorado 49 - Winters 38

Victoria DeHanis, Codee Meador and Payton Whitten teamed up for 40 of the Lady Eagles’ 49 points and the Eldorado girls cruised to a 49-38 win over the Winters Lady Blizzards on Tuesday, January 29th in Eagle Gym.

DeHanis hit for 15 points as she drained seven of her eight field goal attempts and went one for two from the line.

Meador dominated under the goal, hauling in 10 off the glass, six of them off defenisive rebounds. She also tallied 14 points on the night, including two from the charity stripe.

Payton Whitten tallied 11 points on the night while Jadyn Martinez added five and Emmie Grace Mynatt hit for four to round out the scoring.

Looking Ahead to Miles

The win gives the Lady Eagles a 6-2 record in district play and sets up a showdown with the Miles Lady Bulldogs on Friday night in Miles.

With their only two losses coming to Christoval and Forsan, the Lady Eagles are in the hunt for a playoff berth and still have a shot at securing a share of the district title as they host the district-leading

Christoval Lady Cougars in the final game of the regular season on Tuesday, February 5th.
