ELDORADO GAME ASSOCIATION

The Eldorado Game Association is a non-profit organization made up of community volunteers which was established 34 years ago and has remained self-sufficient with the help of ranchers, local businesses and other generous donors. The EGA normally hosts its annual Game Dinner each year on the 1st Saturday in November, which is attended by over 1,300 individuals.

With proceeds from the 2019 event, the EGA has donated over $95,000 to 4-H and FFA clubs; SCISD for their FCCLA, Eldorado Eagle Boosters, Elementary school supplies and Senior gift bags; Daily Bread Program; Meals for Friends; Eldorado Ministerial Alliance; Schleicher Co. Child Welfare Board; Team Jorge; Eldorado Events; Eldorado Pride; Schleicher Co. Historical Society; Eldorado Divide SWCD; Eldorado Masonic Lodge; Future Eagles Basketball & U12 Football and FUMC Eldorado for school backpacks. This year due to the circumstances surrounding the school year, we decided to award $2,000 scholarships to all 13 of the 2019 SCISD Seniors who submitted complete applications. We are proud to continue our contribution of $13,800 toward funding for a county trapper, as well as sponsoring the annual Big Buck Contest for Schleicher Co. hunters. We recently donated $30,000 to the EVFD for equipment needs.

The EGA has decided to modify their traditional 1st Saturday in November Game Dinner due to COVID-19. The board did not feel that an event of this size could safely be held in the limited facilities of the Civic Center. They did not want to put the health and safety of members of the community, out of town hunters, attendees from surrounding areas and our numerous volunteers at risk.

Instead, there will be a drawing for 50+ guns. Tickets are $1 each and are currently on sale in Eldorado at A’s Liquor, Cactus Deer Processing, Divide Supply, Farris Taxidermy, Forlano Chiropractic or West Texas Feed and in San Angelo at West Texas Game Feeders or Vehicle Accessories. Tickets may also be purchased on line at www.eldoradogame.org.

A list of the guns is available on line & on our Facebook page. Folks are encouraged to purchase tickets in whatever way they feel comfortable.

Tickets may also be purchased on Saturday, November 7th from 9 am – 7 pm at the Civic Center. Those who come out and buy their tickets that day will be entered in a drawing for a cooler & gift certificate. There will also be two gun boards for Kimber pistols at $25 per square. There will be NO meal and NO public drawing. The drawing will be live-streamed on Facebook at 8 pm. Winners will be notified and may pick up their guns at Triple C Hardware in Ozona or on Saturday, November 14th from 2-5 pm in Eldorado at 1st Community Credit Union in the Community Room.

The Eldorado Game Association appreciates the support of their generous donors that enables them to continue to meet the needs of our community. For more information, please call 325-853-3331 or visit our website at www.eldoradogame.org.
