Mario Arispe carried the ball into the end zone from inside the five yard line to give the Eldorado Eagles JV squad and early lead over the Winters Blizzards JV on Thursday, August 5th at Larry Mitchel Stadium in Eldorado.

Jose Contreras carried the ball across the goal line on the two-point conversion try giving the Eagles an 8-0 lead that lasted until the third quarter.

Winters came roaring back in the second half, and posted 22 unanswered points to claim the 22-6 win.

The score might have been even more lop-sided except for an interception Arispe made right before the half to end a Winters’ scoring threat.

Nino Tambunga and Daniel Guera helped the Eagles’ cause with some big punt and kick returns that gave their team great field position.

Following the game, Coach Christopher Castleman praised the play of Mario Arispe, saying that he has been a great leader on the team and has rallied and helped put his the team in some great situations in the first two games of the season.

The JV Eagles will host the Christoval JV at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th at Larry Mitchel Stadium in Eldorado.
