Middle School Tennis Coach

Eldorado’s Junior High Eagles performed very well at District 7-2A Tennis in Ozona on Saturday, May 5th. Our young Eagles were up for the challenge.

With tennis being a very short season, there has been much to learn and experience. These amazing results at district proved that the students’ determination, hard work and dedication definitely paid off by starting a tradition by being the 2018 Overall Junior High District Tennis Champions.

Before we stepped on to the tennis courts in Ozona, Coach Romine and I told them that we were there to win, but most importantly, we were there to play and act the “Eagle Way.”

Each student knows that the “Eagle Way” means to play hard, show good sportsmanship and make the right choices on and off the court. Each student stepped up and proudly represented Eldorado, our school, and their families with pride, integrity and loyalty.

7th Grade girls and boys won 2018 Overall District Team Championship.

Ashlee Flynn placed first in 7th Girls Singles, Milette Hernandez placed 3rd.

Angelica Aranda and Liza Morales placed 1st in 7th Girls Doubles. Monica Torres and Destiny Alanis placed 3rd.

Vinny Pina placed 3rd in 7th Boys Singles. Mario Arispe won Consolation.

7th Doubles Boys Team of Garrett Porter and Braxton Elias place 1st.

8th Grade Boys Doubles team of Rylan Martinez and Austin Millican placed 1st.

Korbin Covarrubiaz placed 3d in 8th Boys Singles.

Kali Soto and Junior Esquivel placed 3rd in 8th Mixed Doubles.

8th Girls Singles, Cassidy Arendt did not advance.

We are very proud of ALL of these students who worked so hard this year. They each stepped up and improved tremendously over the last few weeks! It has been an honor to coach and mentor these students

and we can’t wait to see what next year holds for each of them. Go Eagles.
