Eldorado High School Lady Eagles powerlifters began the 2021 season by winning the Steer Invitational Meet in Big Spring on Saturday, January 9th with a total score of 41 points. Eldorado competed against Big Spring, San Angelo Lake View, Snyder, Reagan County, Coahoma, Andrews, and Midland Greenwood.

Yatzari Narvaez was named the meet’s Outstanding Lifter. Narvaez lifted a total of 1,000 pounds, a personal record for her.

Results in the various weight classes were as follows.

Weight Class 105: 4th Place - Angelica Aranda, total lift 430 lbs.

Weight Class 114: 2nd Place - Sissy Coronado, total lift 545 lbs.; 4th Place - Natalie Fuentes, total lift 460 lbs.

Weight Class 123: 1st Place - Myranda Gurerro, total lift 655 lbs.; 2nd Place - Alejandra Alegria, total lift 550 lbs.; 3rd Place - Leslie Alegria, total lift 520 lbs.

Weight Class 148: 4th Place - Perla Contreras, total lift 680 lbs; 6th Place, Logan Prater total lift 605 lbs.

Weight Class 165: 1st Place - Yatzari Narvaez, total lift 1,000 lbs.

Weight Class 181: 2nd Place - Nyomi Aranda, total lift 715 lbs.

Weight Class 259: 3rd Place - Kali Soto, total lift 740 lbs.

Weight Class 132: 5th Place - Jose Contreras, total lift 620 lbs.

Weight Class 148: 7th Place, Jason Covarrubiaz, total lift 645 lbs.

Weight Class 198: 7th Place - Garrett Porter, total lift 810 lbs.

Weight Class 242: 5th Place - Seth Parker, total lift 875 lbs.
