2018-19 Eagle Band honors were given on Tuesday, May 7th at the Eldorado Spring Band Concert for band students grades 5-12. The awards were presented by Band Director James Cross and Assistant Band Director Justina Sanders.

The awards were presented as follows.

Outstanding 5th Grade Recorder Awards: Boys - Tashawn Bustos, Collin Cook, Luther Herrera, Jaxon Hight, Rylie Hight, Zachary McBride, Landon McSherry, Cristian Sanchez and Andrew Whitten; Girls - Fe Barajas, Ryanna Castillo, Miley Doran, Laura Guerra, Alyna Hernandez, Rayne Martin, Emily Morin, Laurie Nolen, and Addie Walling.

6th Grade Beginner Band Awards: Ramiro Leija, Amanda Cortez, Ayla Doran, Lupe Esparza, Destiny Miles, Jonah Penksyzk , Isaac Vasquez, Andrew McGee, and Jaxon Yeager.

7th Grade Outstanding Musicians went to Alondra Olivan, Lucas Sullivan, Logan Prater, Alejandra Alegria, Elexis Martin, Marcos Morin, Tony Kmiec, Jr., Takoda Engdahl, Jordan Blackmon, Michael Adame and Raul Iglesias

Outstanding High School Band recognition: Regional UIL Solo & Ensemble - Class 2 Solos: Baritone - Jazmin Clifton - Division 1; Baritone - Juan Nava - Division 1; Class 3 Solos: Saxophone - Perla Contreras Division 1; Saxophone - Nautika Pina Division 1; Trombone - Hope Barajas - Division 2; Ensembles - Class 1 Flute Trio - Division 1 (qualified for Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest ) Angela Algeria, Kaitlyn Holsey and Milette Hernandez; Class 2 Saxophone Trio - Division 1 Mario Hernandez, Anali Reyes and Yordy Olivan.
Class 1 Brass Quintet - Division 2; Kali Soto, Braedon McCants, Kelsey Stanford, Eduardo Contreras and Layton Spinks;
Outstanding Musicians 2018-2019 year went to Anali Reyes (Saxophone) , Mario Hernandez, Jonathan McGee (Percusion) and 8th Grader Jaydyn Doran (Tuba.)

Band Director James Cross recognized the 2018-19 Drum Majors Angela Algeria and Juan Nava and Color Guard including Hope Barajas - captain, Jazmin Clifton, Perla Contreras, Cristina Estrada, Mitzy Fernandez and Nautika Pina.

Assistant Band Director Justina Sanders recognized the 2019 seniors including Hope Barajas, Shawn Solis and Layton Spinks.

Hope Barajas received the Patrick S. Gilmore Award and Layton Spinks received the John Philip Sousa Award.

The Band Boosters $500 scholarship went to Hope Barajas.

The 2018-19 Band Booster officers were President Moncia Soto, Vice President Lupita Olivan, Treasurer Melissa Truelove, and Secretary Ernestina Barajas.
