Noweita D. (Matthews) Briggs, 85, of Brady, Texas, and formerly a longtime Eldorado, Texas, resident, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, in Brady. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at Eldorado Cemetery with Gary Price officiating.

Noweita was born in Eldorado, Texas on September 15, 1928, to Herman Hensel Matthews and Delta (Booth) Matthews. Other than her college years and living in New Mexico from 1963 to 1975, she was a lifelong Eldorado resident. She had only moved to Brady two years ago when she went into a nursing facility. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Bobby R. Phillips 77, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014.

Bobby was born on March 16, 1937, in Cross Plains, Texas, to Homer Phillips, Sr. and Nora Phillips. He graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1955. He married the love of his life, Mildred Sparks on September 6, 1957.

Bobby proudly served his country for eight years in the US Army. In 1973, he and his family moved to Eldorado where he owned and operated an oilfield instrument business until 1998.

Bobby R. Sykes, “Pa”, went to be with his lord and savior on the 15th of March, 2014.

Bob was born to O.C. and Kate Sykes on December 3rd, 1928 in Ballinger, Texas. He attended Ballinger High School and Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, graduating in the class of 1950. Bob married the love of his life, Pat West in June 1951. He served his country in the United States Army with the 594th Field Artillery Battalion in Germany until early 1953. Following his service, he returned to Texas to raise his children and begin his ranching career with his father and brother.

Bob was a devout Christian and sought to serve the Lord. His life passions were God, family and friends, ranching, and Texas A&M.

Claude Eugene Bradshaw, Jr., passed peacefully at his home on the ranch Sunday evening, March 9, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery.

He was born 15 October 1941 in San Angelo to Claude and Auta Mae (Reynolds) Bradshaw. He lived in Eldorado most all of his life. He married his high school sweetheart, Vera Fae Powell, and they shared a life together for almost 53 years. They were blessed with two children and two grandchildren.
