ELDORADO — Peggy Jo Grelle, age 74, with Amazing Grace went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Shannon Medical Center.

She was born in Dallas, Texas, to Frank Daniels and Gladys Daisy Daniels Faull. Peggy married the love of her life, Harold Wayne Grelle on April 2, 1953, in Ozona, Texas. The couple lived in Mesquite, Texas, while raising their four children before residing in Eldorado, Texas. Peggy was a dedicated wife, mother and Maw to her 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She loved her family and friends but most of all she loved the Lord. Her life was a testimony of God's love.

Peggy was a housewife but her life's work was to serve the Lord. She was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. She was a volunteer for the Eldorado Nursing Home, Meals on Wheels and many church activities. Peggy enjoyed her work at the Schleicher County Museum while quilting with friends. Peggy had a sweet spirit and was kind and loving to everyone she met always putting others before herself.


GOLDTHWAITE — Duain Tyson, 80, of Priddy, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Hamilton Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Comanche, Texas to Luthicia Stewart and Thomas Matthew Tyson. He married Elizabeth Kunkel on March 12, 1949, in Priddy, Texas.

He lived in Priddy, Texas, all his life, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He was a farmer, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Pallbearers were his granddaughters, and honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.

Visitation was Friday, July 10. Service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy, with Pastor Don Kingman officiating, and burial in Zion Cemetery.


Pat May died peacefully on July 11, 2009 in Grand Prairie, Texas, at the age of 91. Born Oct. 3, 1917, Pat was the youngest of 9 children of Albert Ephraim Kent and Carrie Cummings Kent of Eldorado, Texas, and granddaughter of Andrew Malone Hill, a captain in the Confederate Army.  Pat’s father died during the great flu epidemic of 1917, when she was only a few months old. In order to support the large growing family after his death, her mother campaigned for and was elected Treasurer of Schleicher County in 1923, a position she held for 10 years, at a time when few women, much less the mother of 9, held elected office.

Pat grew up in a lively, loving household with her 8 siblings:  Ruth Inez Alsup, Albertine Foster, Tom Kent, Mildred Stanford, Maude Waldrep, Edwin Lee “Buck” Kent, Pauline Means, and Luther Andrew Kent.
Pat graduated from Eldorado High School and attended business school in San Angelo.


Don Smith was born October 17, 1953 in Coleman, Texas to Mary L. Smith and Lee Roy Smith.
He passed from this life on Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Midland, Texas.

Don was employed in various construction and oilfield jobs throughout his working career. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Langhennig Smith.

Survivors include a son, Joshua, J. Smith of Midland, TX; two sisters, Rhonda Corbell and family of Eldorado and Jackie Lynn Smith and family; and, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 13 in Eldorado Cemetery.
