Tommy Franklin Green of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the age of 81. He was born June 24, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas to Thomas Franklin and Ruth (Parks) Green. He was married to Jacqueline (Archer) Green. Tommy was a proud graduate of Texas A&M in 1951 with a degree in Forestry and Range management and Civil Engineering and is a member of the Texas A&M Century Club. Tommy served as a deacon at Main Street Baptist Church in Georgetown and was retired from the State of Texas. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War.

ELDORADO — Richard R. Adame, 58, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at his residence. Service was Friday, November 26, 2010, at First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Eldorado Cemetery. Arrangements were by Kerbow Funeral Home.

Ricardo was born in Eldorado, Texas on February 26, 1952, to Jesus and Maria De Jesus Adame. He married his loving wife Yolanda on August 12, 1969. They settled in Eldorado where they raised their six children.

San Angelo — Leslie Bassinger, 90, passed away on the morning of November 29th at Royal Estates retirement home in San Angelo.  He was born February 9th, 1920, the son of Frank and Grace Bassinger.  Leslie was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years,  Modenia Elliott Bassinger, two sisters, Gladys Geiger and Lois Bassinger, and one brother, E.O Bassinger.

Mr. Bassinger graduated from Westbrook High School in 1938 and served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado where he served as a deacon for many years.  He spent 35 years as a dedicated employee of Chevron Oil.

ELDORADO — Lennie Eugene "Gene" McCalla passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, to receive his heavenly reward.

He was 91 on May 30, 2010. He was born to G.A. and Lizzie McCalla in Corinth, Miss., in the year 1919. They moved to Santo, Texas, in a covered wagon when he was a young boy.
He grew up with a sister, Sallie, and two brothers, Herbert and George. Gene attended Santo High School where he met the love of his life, Vernell Wheeler, and were married 69 years.

To provide for his family he worked for the Eldorado Woolen Mills for 25 years. There he made Army blankets. Gene served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines from 1942 to 1946. Gene and Vernell then operated McCallas Department Store till 1984.
