Eldorado - Lula Mae Joiner passed on to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Eldorado. The funeral service will be on February 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado, and burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery. Pastor Andy Anderson will officiate the services.
Lula Mae was born on November 1, 1922 to the late Thomas Franklin and Ruth (Parks) Green at the family home in the Bailey Ranch community of Eldorado. She was the fifth of seven children born into this loving family, but she held the special privilege of being the only daughter. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1940. A college scholarship was declined, and she chose to stay on the farm and help her mother. This was especially helpful since her father passed away in 1930, and her four older brothers were serving our country during the war. She also enjoyed working at the Ratliff store during this time. June 10th, 1953, she married Wallace Joiner, her “dream come true”. They were blessed with their own loving family and continued the tradition of life on the farm. She was a true helpmate and servant as she partnered with Wallace in love, family life, working the land, and then ultimately as his courageous and faithful caregiver during a twenty seven year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Her faith, determination and positive outlook continue to be example to all who knew her.
