Thomas was born on June 15, 1947 to Calvin and Hattie Knight in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by son Terry D. Knight, and brothers David and Wayne Knight.

Thomas enjoyed doing many things with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his biker friends, but his favorite enjoyment was playing his musical instruments. Tommy’s legacy of country gospel music will live forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone he touched. He made many friends after retiring from his 37 years in the oilfield. He loved to have coffee with his friends at T & C, Jo Jo’s and his daughter Yvette’s cooked breakfast at the Star Stop.
