ODESSA — James B. Jackson, was born to Delmer C. and Barbara (Shelton) Jackson on Sept. 19, 1955, in Abilene, Texas. He finished his work on earth and went to be with his heavenly father at Medical Center Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends on Thursday, May 28, 2009.
He was a member of Bethany Christian Church of Odessa. He loved hunting, fishing and working with young boys as a Scout Master for the Bethany Troop No. 23. He was currently with Champion Technologies.
He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1973 and from Angelo State University in 1977 with a degree in chemistry. He married Susan Gayle Hawley in 1976. He is survived by his parents, Delmer and Barbara Jackson of Eldorado, Texas; son Luke Jackson of San Angelo; daughter Melissa Bergmann and husband Danny of Monahans; one grandson, Andrew Charles Bergmann; brother, Jerry A. Jackson of San Angelo; and aunt, Louise Booth of Baird, Texas, an uncle Bobby James Murphy of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Vera Mae and Jake Shelton and Elsiberry and Mary Pearl Jackson. Funeral service was Monday, June 1, at Bethany Christian Church in Odessa, Texas, with Pastor Clark Ford officiating. Burial was Monday, June 1, in Ross Cemetery in Baird, Texas.
Arrangements were entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa. Our special thanks go out to all of his friends who were there for him during his illness. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts Camp Scholarship Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
