Claude Eugene Bradshaw, Jr., passed peacefully at his home on the ranch Sunday evening, March 9, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery.

He was born 15 October 1941 in San Angelo to Claude and Auta Mae (Reynolds) Bradshaw. He lived in Eldorado most all of his life. He married his high school sweetheart, Vera Fae Powell, and they shared a life together for almost 53 years. They were blessed with two children and two grandchildren.

After high school he attended San Angelo College. He later worked in the oil field and on the Schleicher County Road Crew, all the while ranching. He loved the outdoors and all never considered ranching “work”. It was his joy. He also loved fishing and hunting and especially loved his working dogs. He enjoyed gardening. He spent hours feeding and watching the hummingbirds. He enjoyed everything he ever did but he never did anything he didn’t want to do.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Auta Mae, and by his beloved working companions, Lulu & Haus, his Border Collies. He is survived by his wife, Vera Fae Bradshaw of Eldorado, his daughter Janet Bradshaw of Austin and granddaughter, Jillian O’Diorne of Austin, his son Trey Bradshaw of Paint Rock and grandson, Sterling Bradshaw of San Angelo.

Words cannot express our gratitude to Guillermo Rodriguez, who has become part of our family, for all of his hard work, dedication, love and compassion for Eugene and our entire family.

A heartfelt thanks for the First Baptist Church’s continued prayers and support for years. A special word of thanks to the Schleicher County Nursing Home and to Hospice of San Angelo, namely Anna Fitzgerald, Rosemarie Torres and Brad Grissom for the wonderful support these past two weeks.
