Louise Newlin Logan departed this life on December 25, 2008 in the Schleicher County Medical Center in Eldorado, Texas at the age of 94 year, 9 months and 7 days after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Field Creek in Llano County, Texas on March 17, 1914 and was the fourth of eight children born to Ellis E. Newlin and Eula Marsh Newlin.
Louise moved with her family to Schleicher County, Texas at the age of ten years, attended Eldorado Schools and made Schleicher County her home for the remainder of her life. She was an active member of the Church of Christ for 80 years and loved her church family. She also loved to cook, play games and spend time with her family and friends.
On July 17, 1932 she married Fred James Logan Sr. in a marriage that lasted for 72 years until his death on December 18, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Fred James Logan Jr.; a son-in law, Rony Kerr; four sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by one brother, Willard W. Newlin of Arkansas; a sister-in-law Minnie Skinner of San Angelo; two daughters, Yvonne Kerr and Charleen Sudduth and husband Myrl and a daughter-in-law, Wilma Logan all of Eldorado. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Teresa Poynor, Kelly Kerr, Lori Jones and husband Ricky all of Eldorado, Benny Logan and wife Peggy of Ozona, Margie Logan of New Braunfels, Ronda Kerr of Houston, Amy Patterson and husband Kent of Allen, and Glyn Sudduth and wife Delila of San Angelo. 15 great-grandchildren, Clay Butler and wife Joy, Casey Poynor, Megan Poynor, Brandon Logan and wife Stephanie, Jayce Logan, Murray Logan, Bailey Ann Logan, Kelsey Kerr, Whitney Lloyd and husband Cory, Logan Jones, Riley Jones, Tori Thorne, Lexi Thorne, Madison Sudduth and Mason Sudduth. Step great-grandchildren; Israel Joiner, Jeremy Joiner and wife Ivye, Kasea Joiner, Jenna Hemiter and husband Wes, and Albert Robles. Great-great grandchildren; Tavan Espinosa, Paris Espinosa, Wyatt Lloyd and Mayci Paige Lloyd. Step great-great grandchildren; Kaleb Cobb, Ketcher Joiner, Kash Joiner, Isabella Hemiter and Josephine Hemiter. Paul bearers were Benny Logan, Kelly Kerr, Glyn Sudduth, Clay Butler, Casey Poynor and Brandon Logan.
Services were Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Mertzon Highway Church of Christ with Clyde Dukes officiating. Burial followed in the Eldorado Cemetery.
