San Angelo — Leslie Bassinger, 90, passed away on the morning of November 29th at Royal Estates retirement home in San Angelo.  He was born February 9th, 1920, the son of Frank and Grace Bassinger.  Leslie was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years,  Modenia Elliott Bassinger, two sisters, Gladys Geiger and Lois Bassinger, and one brother, E.O Bassinger.

Mr. Bassinger graduated from Westbrook High School in 1938 and served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado where he served as a deacon for many years.  He spent 35 years as a dedicated employee of Chevron Oil.

He is survived by his daughter Neta Delaine Halton, and husband Patrick of Holton, Ks, grandsons Garrett Leslie Halton and wife Jessica of Prosper, Tx, Seth Patrick Halton and wife Aimee of Gardner, Ks, and Micah Elliott Halton of Lawrence, Ks,  two great grandchildren, Sophia Delaine and Cade Patrick, as well as a very special friend, Nevella Sallee.

Funeral services will be held in Eldorado, Tx at the First Baptist Church at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 2.  Burial will be at the Westbrook Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
