Texas prison officials have suspended Warren Jeffs’ phone privileges as they look into allegations that he broke prison rules when calling his followers in Utah and Arizona.

Jeffs loses phone for 90 days

Texas prison officials reported Monday that Warren Jeffs abused his phone privileges by placing a conference call and will be barred from using the phone system for 90 days.

Michelle Lyons, spokesperson for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice reports that an investigation revealed Jeffs was guilty of a “major disciplinary infraction.”

 

Environmental concerns continue at YFZ Ranch

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) cited the YFZ Ranch recently for failing to notify of changes to its water system.

Inspectors visited the ranch on December 15, 2011, according to a report that was posted on the TCEQ website last week.

Warren Jeffs can receive mail and gets to listen to a radio inside this prison cell near Palestine, Texas, but he is temporarily banned from using the telephone, his favorite means of communication. So it is unclear if he has been keeping up with recent developments involving his current and former FLDS followers in Texas, Utah and Canada.

UPDATE: Trial will start March 21, 2012

District Judge Barbara Walther ordered a change of venue Monday in the bigamy trial of Wendell Nielsen, former president of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
