The Eldorado Success has obtained a copy of what sources call a preliminary drawing of a 30-foot tall statue of FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs with a small girl.
The drawing was provided to THE SUCCESS by Carol McKinley, an investigative reporter from Denver, Colorado.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has proposed a $30,782 penalty against the YFZ Ranch for a series of alleged violations of environmental rules. A formal hearing is slated for January 11, 2012, before the three TCEQ commissioners for a final determination on the proposed penalty.
According to documents filed as part of the agenda for the hearing, the YFZ Ranch is charged with seven individual violations and has not replied to formal notices the agency sent August 19, 2011 by certified mail.
Former FLDS church president Wendell Nielsen, 71, will stand trial on three bigamy charges January 24th in San Angelo. The decision came after a pretrial hearing Tuesday before District Judge Barbara Walther.
