Jeffs hires new lawyer, to oust trial judge

Wednesday, 06 July 2011 17:28

FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs remains in the Schleicher County Jail as he awaits trial on charges of Sexual Assault of a Child and Bigamy. His power over his Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) and its thousands of followers seems undiminished, however, as he administers his flock through nearly unlimited use of a pay-phone near his cell.

Just as it was when Jeffs was held in the Reagan County Jail, he has access to the outside world over the phone lines — access that has fattened the commissary accounts of both jails as Jeffs has purchased hundreds of pre-paid phone cards.
