ELDORADO — Raynaldo (Ray) Romero of Eldorado died Saturday, March 6, in San Angelo. Funeral services was held  Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Eldorado. Burial followed in Eldorado Cemetery.

Ray, beloved father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather was born on Jan. 6, 1943, to Jose and Louisa Romero in Eldorado, Tex. He met his wife, Betty Arispe Romero and was married on Nov. 20, 1965.

Survivors include wife Betty Romero; 3 children, son Mickey Romero and C.C. Puentez, son Joe Romero and wife Christine; a daughter, Lesa Romero; extended son Jason Stensby and family; grandchildren Mi-Ki Jasmine, Holley, and Ray Romero, Brittani, David, Samantha and Amanda Romero, and J.R. and Jadyn Martinez, a brother, Hector Romero and Sherry, a sister, Lydia Salazar, and a great-granddaughter Andi Celeste DeAnda.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Ray enjoyed his daily spins around town, drinking coffee at the local stores, as well as visiting with his friends. He loved being around for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He took great joy in his great-granddaughter and her daily adventures. Pallbearers were J.R. Martinez, David Romero, Ray A. Romero, Nathan Jimenez, David Tirado, and Eric Estrada. Ushers will be Jorge F. Arispe and John Ray Espinosa.

 

Marie “Nana” Barrera went
to be with our Lord on Thursday,
December 31, 2009, at the
age of 59 with her family by her
side.
Marie was born on May 9,
1950 to Jose Guadalupe Espinosa,
Sr. and Juanita Martinez
Shurley. Marie is preceded
in death by her father and sister
Maria Patricia Espinosa.
She resided in Eldorado, Texas
where she battled cancer for
many years.
Marie was a cherished wife,
Mom, Sister, Nana, Aunt, and
friend, she touched so many
lives. She was active in many
local and state politics and was
involved with the church. Her
pride and joy were her sons and
their accomplishments.
Marie is survived by her
loving husband, Ernest Barrera
of 36 years of Eldorado, Texas;
her two sons Gerardo Barrera
of San Angelo, Texas and
Diego Barrera of College Station,
Texas whom she loved and
cherished. She is also survived
by two brother’s Guadalupe Espinosa,
Jr. and wife Rosemary
of San Angelo, Texas ; Gabriel
Espinosa and wife Sandi of
Sonora, Texas; two sisters Betty
E. Lopez and husband John
Jr. of Sonora, Texas; Vivian E.
Rodriguez and husband Johnny
of San Angelo, Texas; two half
brother’s Robert L. Espinosa
and fiancé Annette Siller of San
Angelo, Texas; Ynes L. Espinosa
and wife Rachael of San Angelo,
Texas; three half-sisters Delia
A. Espinosa and fiancé Danny
Ramirez of San Angelo, Texas;
Patricia G. Gray and husband
Robert of San Angelo, Texas;
Nora A. Espinosa and fiancé Jaime
Trevino of San Angelo, Texas.
Marie was also blessed with
numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January
2, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic
Church in Sonora, Texas.
