Tommye Johnson, 85, of Goldsmith, TX passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Odessa. Tommye was born October 6, 1926 in San Angelo, TX.  She was raised in Eldorado, TX and graduated from Eldorado High School in 1944. While working at Foxworth-Galbreath Lumber Co in Eldorado, Tommye met the love of her life, Grover Lee Johnson. They were married September 20, 1947.
Grover’s work took them to numerous West Texas towns for the next several years; in 1964 they settled in Goldsmith. Grover and Tommye were constant companions for over 64 years.

Tommye loved to travel and visit new places. She and Grover traveled to all 50 states, Canada and Central and South Americas. Tommye was a fan of Texas A&M football and attended her first Aggie game at Kyle Field at the age of 84. Tommye was a 50 year member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a longtime and faithful member of Goldsmith United Methodist Church.
Tommye is preceded in death by her parents Henry & Bertha Wilson of Eldorado and infant daughter Laura Ellen. She is survived by husband, Grover Johnson of Goldsmith, many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, three special ladies, Sheryl, Susan and Sara of Illinois, and many caring and loving friends in Goldsmith, Odessa and beyond.
There will be a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa with Rev. David Weyant officiating.  Interment will be at Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, TX at 4:00 p.m. November 26, 2011.
Pallbearers will be David Johnson, John Johnson, Britt Johnson, Harold Lenfestey, Abe Scott & Mike Bavousett.
The family would like to thank all the people at Star Home Hospice, especially Molly, Courtney, Marilyn & Darryl.
