Hensel Harvey Matthews
ELDORADO — Hensel Harvey Matthews, 83, moved on to greener pastures on Sunday, April 18, 2010. He was born to Hensel and Delta Booth Matthews on Feb. 19, 1927. He was a football and track star for the Eldorado Eagles. After graduation he went into the U.S. Army until his dad became ill and he was discharged and sent home from Germany to take over the family ranch, raising Rambouillet sheep and cattle. He was a lifetime member of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association.
Mary Ann Wagner
 Mary Ann Wagner, passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 19, 2010, the same way that she lived, very peacefully. She was home until the very end and was surrounded and comforted by her family, exactly the way she wanted it to be.
Mary Ann brought three incredible children into this world, Neil, Melony and Wende, and helped raise her stepson, Chris. She taught them all from the very beginning about God’s love. The loves of her life were her grandchildren, Neil Jr., Marina, Isabella, Kelley and Coleman. They too brought her so much joy. God and Jesus were her mainstay, but so was her family. Neil Williams and his wife Annie of Driftwood, Texas, Melony Roche and her husband Jim of Eldorado, Texas, Wende Ibarra and her husband Arthur of Lockhart, Texas and Chris Wagner and his wife Yvette of Austin, Texas. She also left a sister, Jane Thompson and her husband Steve, a niece, Tracy Lord and a nephew Todd Thompson, and many other nieces and nephews as well.
Hope Huffman
 Hope Wilson Huffman of San Angelo, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at her home, surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside service were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 3, at Fairmount Cemetery with the Reverend Bill Proctor officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Hope was born February 5, 1961, in San Angelo, to Duncan C. O. Wilson, Jr., and Patricia Hope Wilson. She was very proud to be a 7th generation Texan and traced her roots back to Stephen F. Austin’s “Old 300” on one side and early German settlers who founded Gruene, Texas, on the other.
Hope graduated from Central High School in 1979. She graduated with a BS in Speech from the University of Texas. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Pursuing her interests in politics after graduation, she first worked for U.S. Senator John Tower, then for Ronald Reagan’s ‘84 presidential reelection campaign. After he won, she moved to the Department of Agriculture as a political appointee. Later she worked for Karl Rove’s political consulting firm in Austin. She was also appointed as a director to the Upper Colorado River Authority in 1998.

Charles Franklin (C.F.) Dacy
C.F. Dacy, 68, of Eldorado, Texas died at his residence in Wichita Falls, Texas on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 26, 2010 in the Eldorado Cemetery.
C.F. was born and raised in Eldorado, and continued to love it dearly even after he relocated to Wichita Falls in 2004 to spend the rest of his life next door to his son and family. He was employed by Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative for 35 years. During the 6 years he spent in Wichita Falls, he was a daily part of his grandchildren’s lives-- a chauffeur, a guardian, a Barney-buddy, a friend. He was a constant, comforting presence to his family; taking the daunting role of the ever-present baby sitter, always cheering at the game or sitting in the stands at practice, assisting in the management of his son’s wild game processing business and still always ready for a summer night cookout with family and friends. He was grounded and assured, deeply faithful, quiet but loving in the kindest of ways.
Orval Neal Edmiston
 ELDORADO — Orval Neal Edmiston, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Eldorado, Texas. Service was held Sunday, March 14, at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado with graveside service following in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kerbow Funeral Home.
Orval was born on Feb. 21, 1919, in Eldorado, Texas, to E.N and Idella Edmiston. Orval was married to Charlene Mund Edmiston on April 18, 1942, in San Angelo, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father and Papa. Orval was a graduate of Eldorado High School and was a proud member of the undefeated 1938, Regional Championship Football Team. He continued his education at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, Okla.
Dan Truett McWhorter
 ELDORADO — Dan Truett McWhorter, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, after a brief illness. Full military service was held Saturday, March 13, in the Eldorado Cemetery with Rev. Joe McGee officiating. Honorary pallbearers were his “best buddy” Mark Harrington, Samuel Harrington, Scott Calhoun, George Spinks and Dean Williams. Dan was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Eldorado to William Lauren and Viola Mae McWhorter.
He graduated form Eldorado High School and attended San Angelo Business School. After this, he went into business with his cousin Ben Morris in Fort Davis. They owned the Hotel Limpia and Annex and The Union Trading Company through the 1940's. On Dec. 11, 1941, he was called to serve his country in World War II.
