The staff of Schleicher County Medical Center gathered at Zentner’s Daughter in December to celebrate the holidays and recognize its long-term employees.
“We thought with the spirit that surrounds the Christmas, that it would be the perfect time to begin this recognition program. We have so manyemployees that have been with us for many years and deserve special recognition,” commented Sharon Dietz, Hospital Administrator, adding, “It is the employees’ commitment to the community that makes the hospital and family clinic successful.”
An estimated $300 worth of fireworks were set off inside this 2005 Toyota van early Saturday morning, when stray fireworks entered the vehicle through an open door. The van, owned by Cynthia Daniels of Eldorado, was quickly engulfed in flames and was a total loss by the time volunteer firefighters arrived. Daniels and others were setting off fireworks in the south parking area at the Eldorado Rodeo Arena. That area is designated each year as a place where local residents may discharge fireworks. 
Schleicher County officials gathered Tuesday morning, January 3, 2011, in the commissioners courtroom where they were sworn in for their new term of office.
Jaymie O’Harrow was named the overall Top Showman at the 76th annual Junior Livestock Show held Saturday, January 8th, at the Schleicher County Civic Center.
