Thirst for beer lands three in jail on burglary charges

Nicholas Raiey Gonzalez, 17, Justin Gonzalez,17, and juvenile subject were arrested Tuesday, August 7, 2012, and charged with Burglary of a Building in connection with a late-night break-in at Lowe’s grocery store.

Kathryn Shipman takes part in weeklong National Young Scholar Program

Kathryn Shipman, an incoming 5th grader at Eldorado Middle School, was nominated by her teachers in Elementary to attend The National Young Scholars Program that was held in Denver, CO, June 22-27.
BY MORGAN SMITH THE TEXAS TRIBUNE In 2006, a math pilot program for middle school students in a Dallas-area district returned surprising results.
The students’ improved grasp of mathematical concepts stunned Walter Stroup, the University of Texas at Austin professor behind the program at Richardson Independent School District. But at the end of the year, students’ scores had increased only marginally on state standardized TAKS tests, unlike what Stroup had seen in the classroom.
Kami Lux was chosen as 2012 SCRA Rodeo Queen at the 43rd Annual Schleicher County Rodeo Association Top of the Divide Rodeo. She is the daughter of Stuart and Lisa Lux.
4-Hers earn five blue ribbons at District 7 4-H Fashion Show

Schleicher County 4-H members Emmie Mynatt, Jackie Lozaono, Kathryn Shipman, Andrea Meador and Codee Meador earned top honors at District 7 4H Fashion Show held July 19th in Grape Creek.
